Why do milk teeth fall?

You bite into an apple and start chewing. Suddenly something feels funny — one of your baby teeth has fallen out! It’s been loose forever, and now there it is, right in your hand. 

Before you put that tooth under your pillow for the tooth fairy to take it, did you think why did that tooth fall out?

As the body grows, the jaw increases in size to create the space for permanent teeth. Now, milk teeth can not fit into this large jaw, hence fall off.

The permanent tooth eats away the root of the baby tooth. This is this process that causes the baby teeth to become loose and eventually come out.
