When we say the word grass, what comes in your mind? The small green coloured layer in the park but have you ever thought of the world’s longest grass?

What if we tell you it’s bamboo. Yes, you read it right!!! Bamboo is technically a grass although people describe it as a wood due to its tree-like appearance. Individual stems of bamboo are called culms.

Bamboo has stronger structure than steel and it is widely used in the construction industry. Other than that, bamboo is used in the manufacture of floors, furniture, house walls, skateboards, bicycle frames and helmets.

Bamboo releases 30% more oxygen into the atmosphere and absorbs more carbon dioxide compared to other plants.

The giant bamboo south-east Asia is the tallest species. It­ can reach as high as 50 m (164 ft).

Natural Bamboo plants come in several colors, including blue, black, red, and yellow.

Bamboo is the fastest growing plant on the planet. It can grow 3 feet in height in 24 hours under appropriate climate conditions.

Bamboo is often used in Asian cuisine. It can be served as salad or consumed in the form of soup.
