“Khoob Ladi Mardani Woh Toh Jhansi Wali Rani Thi”– This epic line aptly describes the bravery of Manikarnika, famously known as Rani Lakshmi Bai.

As a child she received all the training a soldier would get. All this training helped her fight the British who wanted to capture Jahnsi.

A war broke out between Jhansi and the British. This was the war of first war of independence. Rani was determined and not ready to give up Jhansi. She was a symbol of patriotism and self-respect.

The British decided to attack Jhansi. However, Rani did not surrender and continued to fight against the British with courage. The battle continued for two weeks.

During the battle, Rani dressed lie a man, had her baby strapped to her back, she rode the horse, and held two swords in her hands.

Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi, one of the most important figures of India’s First War of Independence, died while fighting against the British.
