In 1981, Murthy and six software professionals founded Infosys with an initial capital of Rs 10,000, which was provided by his wife Sudha Murthy.
He played🎮 a very prominent role in nurturing Infosys and his vision gradually transformed it into one of the world’s🌏 leading software companies.
Murthy played a pivotal role in channelizing the outsourcing IT industry by bringing in the Global Delivery model, which is used by many other IT giants even now.

Murthy has been listed as one of the 12 greatest entrepreneurs of his time by Fortune magazine.
He has been honored with the Padma Vibhushan and Padma Shri awards for his contribution to outsourcing in India.
Murthy also serves as a member🕵♂ of the advisory boards and councils of several educational and philanthropic institutions🏫, such as Ford Foundation, the UN Foundation and as a director on the boards of companies like Unilever, ICICI and NDTV.
