Delhi has recently been in a lot of news due to the rise in pollution level in the city. People have to wear masks in order to breathe properly. The air quality index showed dangerous levels of pollutants in the air post Diwali.

Some of it is to be blamed on the people for burning fire crackers and the rest of it is to be blamed on the farmers of the neighbouring states who continue to burn stubble.

Farmers are burning stubble because it is easy to burn it than to pluck it out manually.

Delhi has always been in news due to the high level of pollution in the city which is caused by high number of vehicles in the city.

But stubble burning is a serious issue because it increases the level of air pollution suddenly.

Huge amount of gases which are harmful for the environment are released due to it which contribute directly to environmental pollution. These are also responsible for the haze in Delhi.

The most troubling part about this pollution is the presence of particulate matter. Fine particulate matter (PM2.5) is an air pollutant that is a concern for people’s health when levels in air are high. PM2.5 are tiny particles in the air that reduce visibility and cause the air to appear hazy when its level increases.
