Mary Kom is the most famous and successful female Indian boxer
She was born in 1983 in a poor family in Manipur.
She started her training in boxing at a very young age and made her international debut at the age of 18.

Mary Kom has won 5 World Championship titles in pin weight and light flyweight categories till 2010.
After that, she won the Gold Medal both at the 2014 Asian Games

Mary Kom became the 1st Indian female boxer to win an Olympic medal, when she won a bronze medal in the 51 kg flyweight category at the 2012 London Olympics.

Mary Kom married a footballer named Karung Kom in 2005.
