Leonardo da Vinci was a multi-talented😎 personality of the Renaissance period, and is regarded as one of the greatest artists of all times.

He was a painter, musician🎼, sculptor, architect, scientist and inventor👨🏻‍🔬.

Early Life

Da Vinci was born in 1452🗓 in Vinci near Florence, Italy.

Though he received little formal education🎒 beyond basic reading, writing, his artistic talents were evident from an early age.

Just by combining his intellect and imagination, he filled dozens of secret notebooks📖 with inventions, observations and theories ranging from aeronautics to anatomy.

He managed to create designs of a bicycle, airplane✈, helicopter and submarine centuries before they were actually invented😳.

He also sketched war machines such as a war chariot, an armoured tank and an enormous crossbow🏹.

A Master Painter

Da Vinci is known to have painted🖌 only around two dozen paintings during his life, but some of them became the most famous artworks ever produced.

While the “Mona Lisa” is undoubtedly the most popular portrait🖼 ever made, his other famous portrait, ‘The Last Supper’ is the most reproduced religious painting of all time.

Got his due late

Although Da Vinci got wide appreciation👍 in his life as a great artist, his other genius abilities were never appreciated🙁 during his lifetime.

However, many designers👨🏻‍🔬 and engineers have been influenced by his work over the centuries.

Da Vinci died in 1519.
