Early history

Microsoft was founded by childhood friendsđŸ‘„Â Bill Gates and Paul Allen on April 4, 1975.

They refined BASIC (a popular mainframe computer programming language🔱) and developed other programming languages.

Rise to the Top

Microsoft went on to đŸ’Șdominate the PC operating system market with MS-DOS in the mid-1980s.

By 1993🗓, nearly 90% of the world’s PCs ran on a Microsoft operating system.

In 1995 the company released Windows 95, which for the 1st time fully integrated🔁 MS-DOS with Windows.
