Did you know that a human can live for a month without food, but less than one week without water?😱 Every living thing on Earth depends on water for survival. This is the reason why astrobiologists (scientists who search for life on other planets) think our best bet for finding life is to search for water.

Water basically decides where people live, where cities develop. Since ancient times, explorers have “followed the water.”🌊

If you live in a city or neighbourhood, your water🚰 probably comes from a nearby river or lake. If you live on a farm or out in the country, you might get your water from a well.

Groundwater is pumped through the well. Before reaching your house, water is sent to treatment plants where chemicals are put into it to kill the bacteria🦠 and viruses to make it drinkable.
