Because that happens to be the birthday of Major Dhyan Chand. Let’s get to know more about one of the greatest sportspersons India has ever produced.
👉 He controlled the ball with his stick so well that once his hockey stick was broken to see if there is a magnet inside.
👉 His original name was Dhyan Singh, but he was called Dhyan Chand due to his late-night practice sessions under the moon (Chand🌕) light.
👉 Adolf Hitler, head of Germany, after seeing his performance in 1936 Olympics offered him German Citizenship and a senior position in the army👮♂.
👉 He won 3 Olympics Gold medals🥇 for India in hockey (1928,1932,1936), something no one has been able to do in last 50 years
